Saturday 08. September
14:00 - 16:00
During the lecture 'Viten Avec - Loose Threads' we meet with the artist Ingrid Larssen and archaeologist Birgit Lund, who will give us a closer look at the art and research behind 'Loose Threads'. We will also hear more about the Silver Treasure from Bratten by Petter Snekkestad, conservator at Nordlandsmuseet.
In 'Loose Threads', artist Ingrid Larssen brings inspiration from two national / regional treasures in Northern Europe: the Icelandic National Treasure Alvekonduken from Bustarfell, and the largest treasure from the Viking Age in northern Norway, the silver treasure from Bratten in Bodø. Through his embroidery Larssen draws references to natural history, history, nature and landscape. In 'Loose Threads' art/crafts and history go hand in hand, highlighting the local history of a place.
Viten Avec is the City Museum in Bodø's new lecture concept where visitors are given the opportunity to buy snack and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as alcoholic beers and wines.
